Lore & Background

He was invited by Magnús Scheving to portray a character in the second LazyTown play, which was created to encourage physical exercise among Icelandic children. Initially knowing no English when LazyTown began airing in the early 2000s, he soon became fluent. Stefán Karl had attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, Tourette syndrome, obsessive–compulsive disorder, and dyslexia. He lived in Los Angeles with his wife Steinunn Ólína Þorsteinsdóttir, three daughters, and one son. He was the nephew of actor Magnús Ólafsson and cousin of former footballer Hörður Magnússon. Per his wishes, no funeral was held, and his remains were scattered in secrecy in a distant ocean.

Reader's Guide

His career also highlights his transition from puppeteer to actor, his adaptation to English-language television, and his openness about living with multiple neurological and learning conditions.
